Message	After the joint is cold, just crush the sharp ends of the wire twists with some needle nose pliers to flatten them out. Then once they're relatively smooth, just slide some heat wrap over and heat it up with a lighter. I've reworked a lot of my connectors that way and expect them to last longer than the rest of the harness.
